“Lag” can mean two different problems. Network lag (high ping) makes actions arrive late. Performance lag (low FPS or stutter) makes the game itself choppy. The fixes below cover both.

Fixes for high ping
1. Use 5 GHz Wi-Fi when you are near the router
5 GHz is usually faster and less crowded than 2.4 GHz, though it has shorter range. Sit closer to the router if you can.
2. Pick the nearest game server
Many online games let you choose a region. The closest server almost always gives the lowest ping.
3. Pause downloads and streaming on your network
Someone streaming 4K video or downloading a big update on the same connection can spike your ping.
4. Restart your router occasionally
It sounds basic, but a restart clears many temporary connection problems.
Fixes for low FPS and stutter
5. Close background apps
Apps running in the background use memory and processor time. Close the ones you do not need.
6. Turn off battery saver
Power-saving modes often limit processor speed and screen refresh rate.
7. Use your phone’s game mode
Built-in game modes can block notifications and prioritise performance. Look in Settings.
8. Lower graphics settings
Reducing shadows, effects or resolution usually gives the biggest FPS boost. A stable frame rate feels better than a higher one that keeps dropping.
9. Keep the phone cool
Phones slow down when they get hot. Remove thick cases during long sessions and avoid playing while fast-charging.
10. Free up storage and update
Keep some storage free and install game and system updates, which often include performance fixes.
